Top Hung Sliders

These sliders have trolley and track at the top of the door. There are only guide slots in the floor making this system ideal for seamless interior/exterior transitions.

Our Steel Top Hung Sliding Doors are built with narrow Secco OS2 thermally broken profiles, same as our hinging doors and windows. Unique to this product is that all stiles and rails are exactly the same size. The bottom rail matches the top rail because the wheel carriages are concealed in the head. Top-Hung doors and windows offer the ultimate in smooth operation with a minimalist guide track in the floor or sill. Smooth because the top carriage has double the number of ball bearing wheels as a bottom rolling wheel set and the head track is self centering and self cleaning.

These doors and windows truly glide. Because the load is carried in the head, the doors only need to guide in the slot of our zero-transition sill. There is no raised portion of track making this system ideal for seamless interior/exterior transitions. The combination of the guide fin being the full length under the sash and the guide slot being a continuous drain makes this system shed water very well.

The locking is only on the lead door in a multi-sash system which makes it very easy to operate. Simply unlock the primary door and you can push one or all of the doors with no additional hardware complication.

There are a number of configurations for the sliding door systems. From the ubiquitous XO (operable/fixed) sliding door to multiple glass panels and multiple screen panels which slide into multiple pockets. Our drawings show the variety of configurations that can be used and help with a sense of the wall buildups that will be needed for some of the larger systems.

Matching steel screens are a standard option. Typically our screen panels match the layout of the glass panels both in TDL divided lite patterns and function. With pocket conditions, the standard layout puts the screen sash on the interior of the glass door sash. This method best protects the screens and minimizes the track exposure to water damming and water infiltration into the pockets. When needed, screens can also be placed on the exterior side of the glass panels.

Our bottom rolling door system comes with continuous attachment flange to allow for logical structural integration and waterproofing between the door frame and the rough opening of the building. We have numerous custom installation details, including for pocket doors, which help facilitate most installation conditions.
